Eoghan Daltun is a conservator of sculpture and a sculptor in stone. He is based near Eyeries in the Beara Peninsula, Co. Cork, Ireland.
Eoghan spent seven years training in Carrara, Italy. Initially, this involved learning to carve sculpture in marble and stone at the Scuola del Marmo and at Nicoli Sculpture Studios. He then attended a four-year course in the Conservation and Restoration of Sculpture at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Carrara, run in collaboration with the Opificio delle Pietre Dure, Florence. Finally, he pursued a postgraduate research degree in art history (M. Litt.) with Trinity College, Dublin, studying Italian medieval sculpture.
Since 2001 he has practised as a conservator of sculpture and a sculptor throughout Ireland.
